Spanish Speaking Volunteers Needed

Prince William Volunteers urgently need Spanish speaking volunteers who can be called on to translate for Alternative Community Services clients who wish to enroll in our program but speak little or no English. Volunteers will participate in conference calls between staff and clients to translate questions and responses during the initial intake interview. Volunteers will be pre-scheduled for certain shifts and must be available by phone during these times. Volunteers must be proficient in English and Spanish and able to speak clearly. They must also ensure that the information they translate is accurate and retains the same style and meaning as the original. Conference calls can be made once a week, or you can be on standby. Animal

If you love animals and running, this is a great opportunity for you! Great people at Advocate for Abused and Abandoned Pets looking for experienced 18+ volunteers to help coordinate, manage and execute a walk/run fundraiser. The goal is to host a 5K race at Prince William during early fall. It’s too early to start planning, and you’ll have a great time promoting healthy events that will help homeless and abused animals! Home Delivery Food Driver

You can help our senior citizens! Prince William Area Agency on Aging looking for Home Delivery Food Driver ages 18+ to deliver daytime meals to seniors living at home Monday through Friday, 10:00am to 12:00pm. The route takes about 1.5 hours to complete; the schedule is flexible. The program operates from senior centers in Manassas and Woodbridge. Volunteers must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record, and proof of insurance. Volunteers must also pass a criminal background check, which is paid for by PWC. Volunteer Recruitment Assistance Needed

Are you people? staff at Health Care Capital need virtual volunteers to help recruit volunteers for their various programs. This virtual opportunity is around 10 hours a month and involves social media, marketing and outreach support. If you like admin work, folks at CFH (formerly Catholics for Housing) want to meet you! They need bilingual volunteers Office Assistant who can run day-to-day office operations and assist callers and clients. Her duties include answering telephones, assisting visitors, assisting websites and program applications. Flexible schedule, two to three days a week, four to six hours each shift. Catholic charity Virginia Refugee Student Achievement Program (VRSAP)

Catholic charity Virginia Refugee Student Achievement Program (VRSAP) requires volunteers to help tutor students on an ongoing basis. The program supports children up to five years after arrival and helps displaced students in targeted areas to succeed in school. Historic Dumfries is looking for experienced volunteers to help deliver grants to make the Lee Lansing Research Library more accessible, and to help promote 250th local history memorial and Revolutionary War history. Your help will make an immediate impact on Historic Dumfries as your advice will help the Executive Director prepare to award two grants that make a huge impact to this small community! Leopold Nature Reserve

Attention Plant Lovers and Gardeners! Leopold Nature Reserve, 16290 Thoroughfare Road at Broad Run, offers a range of family-friendly training for volunteers to become certified in invasive vine removal at their facility. Once certified, volunteers can come to Preserve at any time, on their own schedule, and independently work to remove invasive vines. Training is needed to learn more about invasive vine identification and removal techniques. Training for 2023 will be offered April 22, August 12, and October 14, 13.30 to 15.30 each date. It is family friendly and you will enjoy being outdoors in this beautiful facility and the staff helping while you clear away the vines that can choke trees and plants! SERVING Family Shelters

Is your office or club looking for a group project? SERVE Family Shelter requires small groups of five to seven volunteers to provide, prepare, and deliver nutritious meals to around 60 guests at their shelter, including Easter Sunday and Memorial Day! Volunteers have the option of preparing food offsite and making food deliveries directly to the shelter or to prepare and serve onsite in the shelter kitchen. It’s a great way to give back and provide homeless nutritious meals to those facing homelessness!
