The volunteers of America in Lansing is undergoing a transition in leadership. The organization’s former vice president, Patrick Patterson, has resigned. He left the organization in February. He did not respond to an interview request. Brodrick, the organization’s president, says four members of the Lansing committee have resigned as well. He would not name the others.

A new leadership group is taking over the state’s largest volunteer organization. Volunteers of America Michigan receives nearly $1 million a year in public funds to run thrift stores and other community services. The group’s new leadership team is looking to transfer some of its services to Holy Cross, which used to be known as Boysville.
The governing board has also approved a new structure for the organization’s board of directors. The newly-elected members will include the new Permanent Chairman, Henry D. Lindsley of Texas, and Vice Chairman, Bennett C. Clark of Missouri. The board will also include the chaplain, the Rev. John W. Inzer of Tennessee, and the Judge Advocate, Robert A. Adams, of Indiana. In addition to the new leadership team, the organization is also seeking a new board president.
