We all know Dunedin is a great place to visit. And we love it when our friends and family come to town. We just don’t always want them to actually live in our house. But how do we convey that without sounding, you know, a little harsh…?

Here are the main news in Dunedin today:

  1. Children from Dunedin Highland Middle School’s ESE program recently volunteered at the Healthy Harbor Community Market, which is one of Feeding Minds’ many school-based food pantries. The children were led by Jennifer Rossell, who helped them stay focused on filling boxes with food for those in need. “Students with intellectual disabilities need opportunities to experience a little giving back,” says Rossell. “But there’s not a lot of organization available for them to do it. It gives them the feeling that they are on to something. You can see it on their faces. They love helping people.” Volunteering helps prepare students for vocational training when they go on to secondary school. (ABC Action News Tampa Bay)
  2. Beach Island Brewery is having Pre-St. Rice Day Party with Irish Dennis on March 12 between 3 and 6 pm Stop by to start your St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. Patrick’s with live music, craft beer and good friends. This event is the precursor to the St. Patrick’s Day Feast. Patrick’s at Beach Island Brewery on March 17, which will offer green beer, food and live music. (Beach Island Brewery via Facebook)
